Turkish students, who have formed a large community at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń over the years, are organizing a collection for those affected by the tragic earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The fourth-degree state of emergency declared in Turkey means, among other things, that international aid is being requested. The collection organized at the Nicolaus Copernicus University includes items from a list published by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Poland. The embassy asks for donations of unused items.
In earthquake areas, they need:
- tents
- beds
- mattresses (for tents)
- blankets
- sleeping bags
- gas catalytic heaters, heaters
- gas cylinders
- thermoses
- flashlights
- power banks
- generators
- foodstuffs (canned goods)
- baby food
- baby diapers
- cleaning products and hygiene items (including items for women)
The collection of clothing has ended.
Products from the above list can be delivered to two points organized at the University:
- Student Activity Centre Kotłownia (from 12:00 to 20:00)
- Student House No. 10 (at any time - at the reception).
The collected articles through the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Poland will be distributed to those in need.
